The UC Davis College of Biological Sciences (CBS)

William Lucas, professor of plant biology helped develop and manage the international project to sequence the cucumber genome. Lucas is an author on the research, "The genome of the cucumber", published, Nov. 1st, in Nature Genetics.
CBS honors Peter Wainwright, professor of evolution and ecology with the CBS 2009 Faculty Teaching Award. Wainwright is highly regarded by both colleagues and students as a phenomenally successful instructor at all levels, from lower-division introductory classes to postdoctoral mentoring.
